Could instead of Should
At Untypical, we are proud to be the custodians of the concept of Transformagination® – a whole new way to think about transformation and change.
When you sit down to think and discuss the future of your organisation, which word gets used more frequently – should or could?
We SHOULD change our processes, we SHOULD introduce a new product range, we SHOULD let our staff work from home when they can, we SHOULD review the way we operate, etc, etc.
All of these are valid things to consider but what if we introduced a new Untypical dimension to our thinking … how about we focus on what we COULD achieve. We COULD totally transform the way we do business. We COULD introduce new services. We COULD …
SHOULD implies adherence to some rules, expectations, behaviours or directives. COULD implies creativity, transformation and … one of my favourite words … imagination. SHOULD means keeping one eye on the past and making decisions accordingly. COULD means doing things in a totally new way.
Transformagination is not for everyone nor for every business. That said, dismissing it out of hand because of what you SHOULD do is ignoring the extraordinary things you COULD do with some effort and imagination.
