Strategic Engagement

There is a profound difference between engagement and communication. One online dictionary defines them like this:

Communication

The imparting or exchanging of information by speaking, writing, or using some other medium.

Engagement

An emotional involvement or commitment.

Surely, every organisation wants to build an emotional involvement or commitment from everyone they interact with – customers, clients, suppliers, employees, shareholders plus a range of other important stakeholders and yet they continue to rely on a tried and tested “comms approach” to interact with these people.

But is it possible to simply adapt your existing communications approach and create an engagement strategy?

We don’t think so. There are so many things to consider when creating a contemporary engagement strategy – we think that, if you are creating a new strategy, you should take the time to do it properly.
